A fade isn't one haircut. It's four dials: where the blend starts, how short the bottom goes, which way the line travels, and how sharp the edge is. Set them here, then say them in the chair.

Your formula

Mid · Skin · Drop · Line-up

Start the blend around the temple, take the bottom down to bare skin, let the line drop behind the ear, and finish with a crisp line-up.

Bring a photo as well. Even barbers mean different things by "mid skin fade", and a photo next to the formula removes most of the guesswork.

Questions

What do I ask for if I don't know the name of the cut?

Bring a photo and build the formula in Learn the Lingo. The photo shows the result; the formula says how to get there.

What's the difference between a fade and a taper?

A fade blends the sides and back down, often to bare skin. A taper keeps visible length on the sides and only takes the sideburns and neckline short, so it's the more forgiving of the two as it grows out.

How often should I come back?

The shorter and sharper the cut, the sooner growth shows: skin fades and line-ups soften first. CMS content needed guru.blends' recommended interval for each kind of cut.

Do you take walk-ins?
